St. Michael & St. Wulfad’s church in Stone is holding a heritage open day on Saturday 2nd October, where visitors can climb the church’s tower, weather permitting!
The heritage day open day runs from 10 am until 4 pm and allows visitors to take in the history of the church with the following on offer:
- Guided tours of the church
- View the 12th-century seal from the former Stone Priory
- Tour the Mausoleum
- View a World War 2 display of military memorabilia from the area
- A 12 pm organ recital from Alex Goldsmith
- Weather permitting for a £1 charge, visitors can climb the steps of the church tower.
Entry to the open day is free; however, donations to the church are always welcome.
Refreshments will be available on-site, and if you’re heading to the Stone Food and Drink Festival, it’s a great way to learn about some of the local history in the town.
