Do you just sit around after Christmas eating chocolates, watching TV and waiting for the New Year celebrations to start? Why not do something different this year and raise money for charity at the same time?
Stone Lions’ annual sponsored walk – the Post Plum Pudding Plod – takes place on Wednesday 28th December, starting at the Labour in Vain pub in Yarnfield between 9.30am and 12pm. Two walks are available – one of 5.5 miles which does include a number of stiles and a shorter walk of two miles which is suitable for pushchairs and those less able.
The cost to take part is £2.50 per adult, £1 for under-16s and under-fives are free.
Sponsorship forms are available for participants who would like to raise money either for their own favourite charity or for SAMS, a local charity supporting those affected by mulitple sclerosis and their families, which is Stone Lions’ chosen charity for this event.
If your club or organisation is trying to raise funds, why not go along and join in? Previous events have been a lot of fun and have helped individuals raise a considerable amount of money for good causes. Lunches are available at the pub at a very reasonable cost if required.
