Get well soon, Gavin

Gavin at the service last Sunday

All the very best wishes to Gavin Stocks, who’s been in hospital with a major facial infection. Gavin was Stone Army Cadets’ flag bearer at Sunday’s First World War centenary service in Stonefield Park.

He was taken straight to hospital after the parade and told he was very lucky that it hadn’t spread to his eye and brain. Mum Jane said: “He was seriously ill while doing that parade but didn’t want to miss it. We’re so proud of him.”

Gavin was discharged on Thursday evening but is still making a recovery at home. Jane added: We wanted to take him to hospital on Sunday morning, but he was so worried he would miss the parade as he has only just been promoted to Lance Corporal.”
