Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service will be spreading the word about fire service apprenticeships during National Apprenticeship Week which starts on Monday 3rd March.

Eight fire service apprentices will be going into schools and colleges to promote the range of fire service apprenticeships to youngsters across Staffordshire – and they’ll be kicking things off by being at Stone farmers’ market on Saturday (1st March).

Lydia Hooley, reception apprentice at the fire service’s Pirehill HQ in Stone, said: “We’re looking to promote our apprenticeship scheme in the service for students that may be unsure on their next step after they leave school or college. Within Staffordshire Fire Service we have many apprenticeship roles from Fire Control, Admin Assistant, Community Safety Officers, IT, Reception, Training and Development, Motor Mechanics and many more. Within our apprenticeship we also undertake a NVQ qualification that applies to our job role.”

You can find out more about apprenticeships at Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service on their dedicated Facebook page HERE or on their website HERE – and there’s more information about apprenticeships generally at www.apprenticeships.org.uk
