Be afraid, be very afraid… In early September, Stone Revellers will be presenting their production of David Tristram’s Ghost Writer, a hauntingly hilarious whodunit.
Meet Edward, a depressed young playwright living in the less than glamorous surroundings of his friend Alex’s spare attic room. Edward has been unable to write a single word since the untimely death of his actress wife Ruby, who died during an after-show party, apparently committing suicide using a lethal cocktail of pills and booze.
One year on and it seems the late Ruby is not quite finished with Edward yet, and makes her presence known in spectacular and spooky fashion. The ghost of Ruby informs Edward that she was in fact murdered, but by whom? Time to gather up their fellow thespians who were all at the party and smoke out the culprit.
So begins a tale of mystery and intrigue, full of twists, turns and hilarious one-liners.
A Stone Revellers spokesman said: “We might say this every time, but this is truly not a production to be missed, a fabulous evening’s entertainment awaits… unless, of course, you’re too scared?!”
