Got a story to share? How to send community news to A Little Bit of Stone

One thing we hear a lot is that there’s too much bad news about, and not enough stories that leave people feeling good about where they live.

At A Little Bit of Stone, we do our best to share positive, grounded stories about life in and around Stone. The small wins, the milestones, the fundraisers, the people quietly doing good things. But there’s a simple truth behind it all.

We can only report on what we know about.

That’s where you come in.

What sort of stories are we looking for?

Community news comes in all shapes and sizes. It might be a group celebrating an anniversary, a club that’s just raised money for a local cause, or a resident who’s gone above and beyond for others.

It could be a school achievement, a charity effort, a neighbourhood project, or a personal milestone that reflects something wider about the community.

If it’s based in Stone or the surrounding area, and you think people would genuinely want to know about it, it’s probably worth sending in.

You don’t need to be part of an organisation, and you don’t need a press release.

It doesn’t need to be perfectly written

This is important.

A lot of people hesitate because they think they need to send something polished, formal, or written in a certain way. You don’t.

A few lines explaining what happened, when it happened, and why it matters is usually enough to get things started. We can help shape it from there if needed.

Photos do help to tell a story – so please do send some with your news.

Why your submissions matter

Good news does not travel on its own. It relies on people choosing to share it.

Without tips from readers, many of the stories that make Stone feel like Stone would never be told. The quiet acts of kindness, the local pride, the things that don’t come with a marketing budget or a media contact.

When you send something in, you’re helping paint a fuller picture of life in the town.

How to send your story

The easiest way is to message us directly through our website – we have a simple form to step you through the details.

A shared effort

A Little Bit of Stone has always been about the community, not just reporting on it, but reflecting it.

If you’ve got a story to tell, or you’ve spotted something that deserves a bit of attention, we’d love to hear from you.

The best stories often start with a simple message.

I would like to thank the lady who found my Granddaughter’s phone on Christmas Eve on Westbridge Park. The family , from Sussex , were visiting us and had already commented how lovely everyone seemed in Stone.
The loss could have spoiled our Christmas, so thank you again for your honesty and kindness.
