Groups urged to bid for community funding

Local groups and charities in Stone that are developing new services to help older and vulnerable people stay independent and safe in their community have been urged to apply for grants from Staffordshire County Council.

The Community Wellbeing Fund is easy to apply for and provides up to £10,000 to help deliver community-based projects. Initially launched on 1st April last year by County Councillor Matthew Ellis, a total of £1 million is being made available for innovative new local services over four years.

County Councillor Matthew Ellis, Cabinet Member for Adult Wellbeing said:  “This is unique to Staffordshire and is just one example of how we are tailoring services for older and vulnerable people as close to where they live as possible.”

The latest round of funding is now open, with the deadline for applications 31st May. Another round will then begin in September.
