A new wellbeing and fitness community is launching near Stone later this month, aiming to combine running, strength training and mindset work with a strong sense of connection.

Happy Rundays Club is the idea of Yarnfield resident Ben, who has spent the past two decades working in corporate training and coaching roles. The club is built around the idea that physical health, mental wellbeing and community support all work better together, particularly for people juggling work, family and everyday life.
Rather than focusing purely on fitness targets, Happy Rundays Club is structured to help members feel more confident, resilient and supported, with running and strength training used as practical tools rather than the end goal.

A programme built around balance and support
Members begin with an initial coaching session designed to understand personal goals, areas of focus and the reasons behind wanting to make changes. From there, the programme combines daily strength and running guidance with weekly exercises aimed at improving overall wellbeing.
Alongside the training element, members have access to weekly online community drop ins, giving people a chance to check in, share progress and stay connected. Fortnightly community runs are planned, with quarterly meet ups designed to mark milestones and celebrate progress rather than performance.
The club is structured to avoid demanding hours of weekly training, with an emphasis on fitting around everyday routines.

From personal change to community idea
Ben’s journey into fitness and wellbeing was driven by a personal turning point. After years of focusing on what was not working in life, he decided to make deliberate changes, using exercise as a starting point. Over time, this helped him bring together practical coaching skills with personal experience of rebuilding routines and confidence.
He later founded Yarnfield Runners, where he saw first hand the impact that belonging to a supportive group can have. In parallel, he completed his Level 3 Personal Trainer qualification alongside UK Athletics Leader in Running Fitness training.
Through conversations with runners and local residents, Ben identified a gap for people who enjoy running but also want support with wider life goals, motivation and mindset. Happy Rundays Club grew from that idea.

Membership details and launch dates
Happy Rundays Club launches on Sunday 26 January, with an induction week starting on Monday 2 February. Membership is paid monthly via subscription.
To mark the launch, anyone signing up during January will pay £50 per month for their first 12 months.
From February, the monthly cost increases to £75. Places are limited to ensure members receive consistent support and coaching.
The club is aimed at people who want to get fitter and stronger, but also value connection, encouragement and accountability.
A local business with a local focus
Although the programme is delivered online and through organised runs, the roots of Happy Rundays Club are firmly local. Ben lives in Yarnfield and understands the pressures faced by people balancing jobs, families and daily responsibilities across Stone and surrounding villages.
The emphasis is not on quick fixes or extreme training, but on steady progress supported by a community that understands the realities of everyday life.
