With the country now well into lockdown 2.0 and only essential shops allowed to stay fully open, we’re asking businesses in the area to help us keep people up to date with the services they can & can’t offer.
A lot of Stone’s shops have adapted to offer takeaway, collection or delivery services. The crowd sourced information sheet we used for the first lockdown in March worked well as a reference point to keep on top of who was offering what, and has been adapted for November’s month long shut down.
For those unfamiliar with the term, crowd sourcing means that many people contribute to a task that
would be far too large for one person to tackle. The sheet, which can be found here, is open to be edited by anyone who has the link to it. This means business owners can edit their own details, and anyone who has up to date information about services can add details in.
To edit the sheet on a mobile, press the pen symbol (highlighted yellow in the image to the right), and you will then be able to click the cells to type into them. Once you’ve entered the information, press enter or move to the next cell you wish to edit. Google sheets automatically saves all edits as they’re done, so once you’ve finished just close the sheet.
On a laptop the sheet will look slightly different (see left image). There is no pen symbol, the sheet can be edited directly from clicking the link. The sheet is split into categories for business types, with health services coming first. At the bottom is an “Other” category, for if the information being entered doesn’t fall into any of the categories listed.
Supporting local businesses is more important then ever, so keeping the sheet up to date is vital to getting information to local people. If you have issues editing the sheet, or need advice on how to include your details, please email businessinfo@alittlebitofstone.com.
