Help Me-owt? Stone Cats Protection Charity Shop in Need of Volunteers

Cats Protection need volunteers to help them bring in some cash for their kitty!

Raising vital funds to help the area’s cats means a lot to the volunteers at the Stafford & District Branch in Stone, and they’re sending out a plea for people to donate their time (or goods) to carry on their fantastic work.

The branch is entirely run by volunteers, no previous experience will be necessary to help out as they will provide full training & support. For a few hours a week, you could be the public face for this great charity, in a role that is varied & rewarding, including serving customers, sorting and pricing donations and organising stock.

Shop Manager, Jess Keitley, said: “The branch does a huge amount of work to help local cats and the money we raise in the shop helps us to do that. However, we now desperately need more volunteers to work in the shop. The role is incredibly varied and no two days are ever the same. Volunteers will need to do general shop work and also be able to talk to the public about the work of the charity and cat welfare issues. No previous shop experience is needed, as full training will be given, but we need people who love cats and have bags of enthusiasm. By sparing just a few hours a week it can make a huge difference to needy cats. It’s also a great way to make new friends – both human and feline!”

As the UK’s leading cat charity, the branch is part of a nationwide network of over 250 volunteer-run branches and 32 centres that together help around 200,000 cats each year.

As well as finding new homes for unwanted and abandoned cats, the charity also offers cat care advice to the public and can help towards the cost of neutering.
