Residents invited to AGM on 7th May to elect new trustees and hear the latest updates
Stone residents are being encouraged to attend the upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Trustees of Stone Common Plot, taking place at 7:30 pm on Wednesday 7th May 2025 at the Stone Council Chamber, 15 Station Road.
The meeting is open to people living in Stone, Oulton, Meaford and the surrounding area. It’s a chance to hear about the work done over the past year to look after the historic green space, with reports from the Chair and Treasurer and a look ahead to upcoming priorities.
One of the key items on the agenda will be the election of new trustees. With five vacancies to fill this year, the trustees are keen to welcome fresh faces who can support the management and maintenance of the Plot. Elected trustees serve a three-year term and meet at least four times a year to oversee the upkeep and budget of the space.
Anyone interested in standing is encouraged to attend the meeting. To be eligible, candidates must be proposed and seconded by residents from Stone, Oulton, Meaford and the surrounding area, with the election taking place on the night.
The Common Plot plays an important role in the life of the town, and the trustees are keen to ensure it continues to be well cared for with input from the community.
For residents who care about local green spaces, it’s a great opportunity to get involved.
