Hot stuff at Lymestone chilli challenge

Lymestone Brewery has challenged local people to a special cook-off at their Stone base to find the best chilli-based dish in town.

The Lymestone Chilli-Off takes place on Saturday 29th September from 7pm and registration is open now if you want to join in the fun and submit your dish!

Your entry can be any type or style of food. It could be a starter, main course or dessert. It could be a side dish or even a drink. So it can be sweet or savoury, wet or dry, it can be very spicy or it can be really mild. But it MUST contain some chilli! Rice, pasta and sundry food items will be provided and a re-heat facility is available if required.

After tasting all the competition entries the judges will decide first and second place. A special bone china bowl will be awarded to the winner, a bone china plate to the runner up. The Lymestone Boiler House Bar will be open with beer on sale at £2.50 per pint, with £1.25 per pint to be donated to the Prostate Cancer Charity

To register contact brad@lymestonebrewery.co.uk or call the brewery on 01785 817796 or send him a tweet to @lymestonebrewer or look them up on Facebook (just search for Lymestone Brewery). If all else fails, contact by snail mail at The Old Brewery, Mount Road, Stone ST15 8LL.

To validate your entry:

  1. It must be home-made by the person entering the competition
  2. There must be a kilo or litre of it
  3. You will eat or drink 5% of your entry in front of the judges.

Brewer Ian ‘Brad’ Bradford said: “This is a non-profit-making, charity fund-raising, bums on seats kind of event that will be fun to enter or attend. Hope to see you at the bar!”
