Whether you are a local business, a resident, or just a fan of Stone, there are lots of ways you can help keep independent news alive, and some cost nothing at all.
Keeping Stone connected
Since 2010, A Little Bit of Stone (ALBOS) has been proud to provide free, trusted news for our community.
We have never put up a paywall and never will, because we believe everyone should have access to local news, regardless of ability to pay.
What many people may not realise is that ALBOS is not a huge organisation. It’s a small business like so many in Stone, which I (Jon) run alongside my full-time work, supported by my wife Lisa.
Together, we run a local business dedicated to Stone’s news and community life.
Although we have a large social media following, ALBOS has always been an independent local news website first and foremost, with our home at alittlebitofstone.com.
We are proud to be:
- A founding member of the Independent Community News Network (ICNN) ran by Cardiff University
- A partner in the BBC Local Democracy Reporter Scheme, bringing democracy reporting for Stone, Stafford Borough, and Staffordshire County Council
- A member of Press and Independent News Forum (PINF), supporting the future of independent journalism
As a small, independent business, we rely on the support of the community we serve. If you believe in what we do, there are lots of ways you can help, whether it is a simple click or a business partnership.
Free ways you can help
You do not have to spend a penny to support ALBOS. Here are some easy ways that genuinely make a difference:
- Like, comment on, and share our posts on social media.
Every interaction helps more people see local news and businesses. - Invite your friends to follow us.
A quick invitation can help us reach new audiences who care about Stone. - Send us your community news.
If you know about an event, a good cause, or a local story, get in touch. We love to share what is happening in and around town.
Every little action helps to keep independent community news alive.
