There was an incredible turnout for this year’s Remembrance service and parade in Stone. The service and two-minute silence at the war memorial in Granville Square must have been attended by almost 2,000 people. There were still hundreds of people in Market Square after the church service at St Michael’s Church to see the parade dismissed after the National Anthem. The parade this year was the final one – after 28 years – for parade marshall Dave Cumming. You can read that story HERE

I laid a wreath on behalf of the Stone and District Motorcycle Club and would like to say what a privilege it was to take part on such an auspicious occasion.
The sheer size of the crowd attending shows that those who gave their all will truly never be forgotten.
As I said, a privilege.

As Stone Town Mayor, I was overwhelmed by the amazing turnout. It was heart warming to see both the young and the not so young coming together to remember those who gave their lives for us.

It was an incredible turnout wasn’t it? Always an emotional day but even more so with it being our wonderful parade marshal’s final event
