The ‘Day of Music and Fun’ took place in Stone town centre on Saturday (16th August) to raise money for next year’s Stone Music and Arts Festival.
Huge thanks to Stone’s independent traders, who organised the event after this year’s music festival was cancelled due to lack of sponsorship. They sold voucher / raffle booklets to raise money to make sure the 2015 Stone Music Festival is the biggest and best yet.
All the bands played on Saturday for free – The Ben Owen Trio (and Ben’s Young Musicians’ Collective performers), Murphy’s Marbles and Stone Cold Sober…ish. HSL provided the stage, Dave Williams the electrical kit and Ian Goodship for paramedic cover – again, all for free. A wonderful example of the town’s businesses and others coming together for the good of the community.
Stone Music and Arts Festival are asking local people to donate towards next year’s event – you can do so HERE
