The team behind the Stone Food and Drink Festival say that enquiries from prospective exhibitors have been at a record high for this year’s festival, with producers from across the UK vying for a place.
This year’s festival takes place between Friday 5th and Sunday 7th October and there will be lots of new faces in the Gourmet Marquee. Organisers say that a third of stall holders confirmed to date are first-timers, offering visitors a host of new flavours to sample.
Festival chairman Richard Stevens said: “Planning for the festival always starts early in the year, but 2012 has been busier than ever due to the sheer volume of enquiries. It’s proof of the event’s growing reputation among those in the food industry, which was given a real boost following last year’s record visitor numbers.
“However, despite being inundated with enquiries we’re sticking to our guns and have cherry-picked those producers that we feel best meet our ethos of providing goods of the highest quality. This way we can be sure that the festival retains its intimate feel whilst continuing to grow. It also means that there’s still chance for exhibitors interested in joining the party to make their application – especially if they’re passionate about what sets their products apart from the crowd.”
This year, for the first time, weekend tickets are available for the three days at the special price of £15 per person. Day tickets to the Westbridge Park festival site will be £6 per person and accompanied under-16s still get in free.
