A Stone student has appealed for help from businesses to set up an awards scheme for volunteers in the town.
Jack Taylor – who’ll be cooking in the demonstration tent again at this year’s Stone Food and Drink Festival – wants to set up the awards to honour the many volunteers in Stone who make the town such a great place to live. Over to Jack…
Over the past two years I have been involved in volunteering in and around Stone, and when I have been at these events I have seen the time and effort of the volunteers. They give up so much of their own personal time to not just help run the events but keep the public safe and happy at the same time. However, what surprises me is there is no scheme in Stone to recognise the hard work and commitment of our town’s volunteers. So as they say on telly – “Here’s my pitch”.
I want to thank the volunteers of Stone at an awards ceremony and recognise them! So here’s where YOU come in! Firstly, I am after a group of five people to be directors of the group with myself, and any other people wishing to help us with our mission anyway possible. Secondly, businesses, I need you to be our sponsors of our awards which will include getting the award and also a member of your team to present the award at the ceremony. Finally, of course, I am going on about a ceremony but I need a place to hold the ceremony so this goes out to any hotel, restaurant or hall.
If you wish to get involved somehow, please email me at: taylorjack2010@hotmail.co.uk , Facebook me: www.facebook.com/Jacktaylor199 or Tweet me: @JackTaylor1997.
Thank you very much and I hope to be hearing from you soon! PS. I need replies by Sunday 28th October.
