A knitted garden is being created for the visit of the Heart of England in Bloom judges on Friday 8th July.
Jeanette from Yarn Gathering in Radford Street is busy preparing the colourful creation, which will be the main feature of a miniature garden display.
Schoolchildren in Stone are making the miniature gardens in a special Stone in Bloom competition sponsored by the Londis store in Walton. Schools have been supplied with boxes and a range of gardening materials for the competition.
The miniature gardens – as well as the knitted garden – will be displayed at Stone station when the judges run the rule over the town on 8th July.
Stone has won a gold medal for the last three years, thanks to a band of dedicated volunteers. You can find out lots more at the official Stone in Bloom website.
