Part Time – 18 hours per week

 

About us

Stone Community Hub is a registered charity that exists to relieve those in need – by reason of age, ill-health, disability, financial hardship, or other disadvantage – living in Stone (Staffordshire) and surrounding areas. By providing information, assistance, and activities to help improve the quality of life of residents we hope to alleviate the impacts of:

·  Adverse economic circumstances – e.g., an information/signposting centre, a cooked meal twice weekly and a food bank

·  Social isolation – drop-in centre, people to talk to, crafting & refreshments.

Our aim is to increase the number of services that we offer and reach more residents of Stone and surrounding areas.

 

Activities & Support Worker Role

Reporting to the Hub Manager you will work flexibly, energetically, and enthusiastically to grow and maximise the benefits of the Hub for our members and the wider community. Your role will involve basic day to day running of the Hub, providing refreshments and a friendly environment for our clients, and collecting and managing the many donations received. You will also have the opportunity to be innovative and creative helping to build the programme of activities and new groups, in line with the Hub’s strategic aims and objectives. Experience in a similar role will be an advantage as will experience of the voluntary sector. You will be pro-active with plenty of initiative and have excellent communication skills enabling you to interact with a range of people including Hub clients and volunteers. Use of own car is desirable.

Location: The role is based at Stone Community Hub, Frank Jordan Centre, Lichfield Road, Stone

Salary: £25,188 (full time equivalent), pro rata dependent on experience. Plus, Pension Scheme   Contribution.

Hours: 9am – 3.30pm Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. There may be occasional evenings, or weekends to attend events or meetings.

Holidays:  6.6 weeks paid leave inclusive of Statutory holidays
