Group Chair
Help shape the future of local Scouting
We are looking for a Group Chair to lead our Scout Group Trustee Board and help ensure the Group is well-run, sustainable, and able to provide great Scouting for young people in our community.
This is a rewarding volunteer role that plays a vital part behind the scenes, supporting leaders so they can focus on delivering fun, safe, and adventurous activities for young people.
What does the Group Chair do?
· Lead and support the Group Trustee Board
· Chair meetings and help set the Group’s strategic direction
· Work closely with the Group Scout Leader as a supportive partner
· Help ensure good governance, financial oversight, and compliance
· Act as an ambassador for the Group in the local community
Who are we looking for?
You don’t need to have been a Scout before. We’re looking for someone who:
· Enjoys working with people and supporting volunteers
· Can lead meetings and help others work well together
· Is organised, reliable, and willing to learn
· Cares about creating positive opportunities for young people
Experience of committees, trusteeship, or leadership is helpful but not essential. Training and support will be provided.
