Judge casts expert eye on blooming Stone

The chairman of Heart of England in Bloom was in Stone on Friday to cast his expert eye over the town’s entry in this year’s competition.

Stone in Bloom committee members took Roger Bache on a tour of the town, including a stop-off in Stonefield Park, hoping that he would be impressed and award the town its eighth gold medal in a row. We’ll have to wait until the awards ceremony in Shrewsbury in early September before we find out, though. Fingers crossed!

Stone in Bloom have again worked their magic across the town for this year’s competition. Wildflowers, school and community group involvement, local businesses entering a shop window competition for judging day, community clean-ups and lots, lots more.
