Ken is an engineer who spent 10 years in manufacturing as a general manager. He is married with grown up children and grandchildren. He chose to settle in Stone having come to know the town on regular visits from South Staffordshire to the Peak District.
Ken was a founding member of the Walton Residents Action Group formed to Appeal the proposed David Wilson Homes development off Marlborough Road. The collective action of residents enabled this Appeal to be won.
This experience showed him what could be achieved by active residents working alongside Independent Councillors. He has since been a regular attendee of council meetings to help him better understand the needs of residents and how he might help meet them and recognises the importance of strong and independent-minded representation on the town council.
Ken says: “Through my community involvement – and as a father and grandfather – I am aware of the needs of the younger and older Walton residents and that these must be addressed. I will work hard to make that happen. ”
