Kids who dream of life in the limelight will be in for a treat this school summer holiday as Stone’s Pop School and Stage Academy (PSSA) hosts a performing arts workshop.
In addition to honing their skills in singing, dancing and acting at the academy’s base, Rooftop Studios in Stone, youngsters will get the chance to show off what they’ve learnt as they take to the stage at Stoke’s Repertory Theatre at the end of the course.
The workshops will cater for children of all ages, from ‘Little Luvvies’ aged three to eight through to eight to 18 year-olds in the fully fledged PSSA.
Teacher Kit Henson who, like colleagues Rob Lewis and Nick Earnshaw, is a seasoned professional performer in her own right, said: “We’re really excited about running our first PSSA summer workshop in Staffordshire – the London branches of the academy have had great success as the high energy, performance-driven style of teaching that is our trademark translates brilliantly to an intensive course. We love nothing better than seeing kids’ talent nurtured and watching them perform confidently in front of an audience, so ‘Keep Calm and Cabaret’ will be as much fun for us as it will the students!”
The ‘Keep Calm and Cabaret’ workshop will take place at Rooftop Studios, above the Co-Op arcade in the High Street, from 20th to 24th August, with Little Luvvies from 9am-1pm and the older class from noon-6pm each day. The big performance will take place at the Repertory Theatre on Leek Road, Stoke-on-Trent, on Friday 24th August.
Places on the workshop cost £125 per child, with sibling discounts available. Advance booking is essential – for more details or to book your space call Kit on 07813 830 622.
