The landlady of Langtrys will be leaving the pub in July.
Rita Durkin shocked locals when she posted this update on the pub’s Facebook page earlier tonight…
Dear friends of Langtrys,
It is with deep regret that I announce today that I will be leaving Langtrys as of the 27th July 2014. To quash any rumours that I’m sure will be doing the rounds, I have made this difficult decision due to personal reasons ( which you may or may not be aware of) so I ask that you respect that this is the reason I will be leaving Langtrys.
It has been a joy to be the Landlady of Langtrys and see my team serve you when quite often I have been on the other side of the bar myself, having a good time, drinking, laughing, singing and dancing with some of you. I shall do everything I can to make sure that Enterprise Inns invest into this pub, as you all have, before the new Landlord or Landlady take the helm and I hope you will be as welcoming to them as you have been to me over the last 18 months.
For the next 6 months it will be business as usual and I hope with your continued support, we can make it one long party!!

Live music (X Factor winner Sam Bailey performed there last year, if you remember! Details and a video HERE if you don’t), great local food (the Lymestone sausages are to die for!) and a wonderful atmosphere all got lots of people back into Langtrys – and many have posted on the pub’s Facebook page to say thank you to Rita, and to wish her all the best for the future.
