You should put your green bin out for collection as normal – even if your blue and brown bins haven’t been emptied yet.
Stafford Borough Council has a page on its website to keep residents up to date with waste and recycling collections during the winter weather. It’s updated regularly and can be found HERE.
It says: “Please leave out the bin that was missed and put out the bin that is due for collection on the day highlighted on your calendar. You may find that the bin that is due for collection is emptied before the bin that has been missed – please continue to leave the full bin out as the different types of waste are emptied by different vehicles. If you miss more than one scheduled collection for a green/blue bin then bagged side waste can be left beside that bin for collection.”
The council says that additional vehicles are being used to clear the backlog and that crews will be working this Saturday and Sunday. But it says that some areas are still dangerous and that decisions on whether to collect are being made by contractor Biffa on a road-by-road basis.
