Launch Music International meeting day in Stone

The heads of independent music labels from across the country will be at the Crown Hotel in Stone on 4th July for an event organised by Launch Music International.launch music international

Founded in 2009, against the backdrop of a rapidly shrinking physical music market, Launch Music International has  grown over the last seven years into one of the UK’s leading independent physical and digital distributors, with almost 50 record labels in their global portfolio (including the  UK) and another 40 for ‘export only’.

And they’re based in Stone!

The majority of their distributed labels are owned by artists, composers, producers and ‘husband and wife’ teams – small family owned businesses looking to find a route to worldwide markets. They are also a small family business – run by Philip Hateley and his wife.

As a group Launch Music International are infinitely larger that the sum of their parts, offering a substantial turnover to distributors and retail who buy from them. Their labels include multi-award-winning albums, BBC Music Magazine and Gramophone Albums of the Year, BBC Radio 3 awards, Classics FM awards, critic’s choices and a host of other awards around the world.

On July 4th label owners from across their group will come together for the first time, meeting at The Crown Hotel in Stone, to discuss all areas of sales and marketing, press and promotions – best practice – maximization of sales when time, money, resources and opportunity is limited.

The day will consist of a series of presentations, instigating some lively debate, with a stellar line up of speakers from the music industry and outside.

Speakers on the day include:

Jason Lazelle – Label Owner of Moochin About. Experienced 20 years at the front line of UK sales – from Tower Records through to (until recently) Discovery Records. Long terms business relationships with retailers nationwide – we’re thrilled to report Jason is now serving as our jazz/world product manager and sales rep.
