Leighton Hall Auctions – A treasure trove of antiques finds its home in Stone

Leighton Hall AuctionsWe caught up with Toby Hall, the young entrepreneur behind a new auction house in Stone – Leighton Hall Auctions.

From a young age, Toby was plunged into the realm of antiques, nurturing a passion that would later blossom into a full-fledged auction house.

Toby told A Little Bit of Stone, “Leighton Hall Auctions was created nearly three years ago, during the Covid Pandemic… People often ask where the name Leighton Hall derives from. Hall is my surname, Leighton is my mum’s maiden name, and my middle name… I really adore my family and have always admired the ‘Leighton’ name, which is why I thought it’d be nice to see it used daily for my business.”

Leighton Hall AuctionsA Personal Touch to Timeless Treasures

Leighton Hall Auctions’ ethos is to blend transparency and personal engagement. Toby and his team are dedicated to creating the best auction experience for both buyers and sellers. With competitive commission rates, they strive to achieve the best results for vendors, embodying a symbiotic relationship that thrives on trust and satisfaction.

“We pride ourselves here on providing a very personable approach to all our customers… Our commission rates are amongst the lowest in the area, and as we are commission-based, we are genuinely striving to achieve the best results for our vendors as it is in both of our best interests,” Toby shares.

Stone: The Chosen Hearth for Heirlooms

The charm of Stone, with its quaint cafes and congenial community, captured Toby’s heart, making it the ideal place for his auction house.

Toby reveals, “I have always dreamed of moving the auction to the Stone area… Stone is a central meeting point for many of my friends, and we often meet at some of the area’s brilliant pubs and hospitality businesses!”

Leighton Hall AuctionsA Glimpse into The Antiquarian Alcove

Leighton Hall Auctions is a haven for a diverse range of antiques and collectables. The auctions offer a kaleidoscope of historical artefacts, from the rare intricacies of Beswick, Royal Doulton, and Wedgwood to the timeless elegance of fine watches, coins, and jewellery. The weekly valuation days, held every Tuesday, provide a platform for residents to unearth the worth of their cherished possessions.

A Global Stage for Stone’s Antiquities

Toby explains how the auctions are run, “This is the fascinating part of the business! Our auctions are currently online only, which means, unfortunately, we don’t currently allow viewing or bidding in the room on sale day.

At the start of the auction, our auctioneer and the sale will be broadcast live on our website, on The-Saleroom and Easylive Auctions, with a traditional live auction held online with people bidding from across the globe.

In our September auction, we had prospective buyers bidding from countries such as the UK, Australia, USA, Canada, Oman, Belgium, Netherlands and a few others too!

The auctioneer controls the auction, and they can be watched live at any point whilst the auction is going.

Even if you aren’t perhaps interested in buying or selling any antiques, it is always interesting to watch the auction to see some of the many surprising results we achieve!”

Leighton Hall AuctionsFostering Community Engagement
