Lewis Partnership rules out Crown Hotel?

The Lewis Partnership appears to have ruled itself out of taking on the Crown Hotel, which is currently on the market for £1.5 million after it closed down last month.

The shock closure of the Crown (more about that HERE) has left one of the town’s most historic buildings empty, and many people had been hoping that the Lewis Partnership – which runs the Moat House at Acton Trussell, the Dog and Doublet at Sandon and the Swan and Bear Grill in Stafford – would buy the hotel and restore it to former glories.

But Lewis Partnership managing partner Chris Lewis told A Little Bit of Stone: “I’ve watched with interest the comments on social media about who will be the eventual new owners of the hotel. Can I just put the record straight – the Lewis Partnership is not in negotiations to purchase the hotel.”

Just a reminder while we’re on the subject of the Crown Hotel – Chico’s Mexican restaurant, which has a space inside the hotel but with a separate entrance off Market Square, is open as normal
