A 12-hour non-stop circuit session at SWC Fitness on Stone Business Park brought the Stone community together on Saturday, 24th May, raising more than £7,000 for two charities close to their hearts.

One gym, two great causes, countless reps
From 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, a core team of ten members – including gym owner and coach Shane – kept moving without a single break, all in support of DEBRA and MIND. They were joined hourly by other gymgoers, family members, and supporters, creating a real buzz that lasted the full 12 hours.
DEBRA is a national charity that supports individuals and families affected by epidermolysis bullosa (EB), a rare and painful genetic skin condition. The fundraiser was held in honour of 13-year-old Poppy, one of SWC’s younger members, who lives with EB.
Alongside DEBRA, the gym also raised funds for MIND, the mental health charity supporting people across the UK who are struggling with their mental wellbeing.
The people’s gym and a community that shows up
Charlotte, one of the members, said:
“We are the people’s gym. We have a fantastic fitness family and truly believe in giving back to the community.
The atmosphere on the day was incredible, and we were blown away by the support. Everyone kept each other going. It was emotional, powerful, and full of laughs.”
As the circuits rolled on hour after hour, supporters dropped in to cheer, donate, and take part. SWC’s social media channels were busy throughout the day with photos, videos, and live updates, capturing everything from high-energy workouts to the quieter moments of reflection and solidarity.
Still time to support
With donations still coming in, the team is encouraging anyone who hasn’t donated yet to visit their fundraising page and support these important causes. Every penny goes towards improving lives, whether by funding research into EB or helping someone find the support they need in a mental health crisis.
