On 19th May 2025, Stone Town Councillor Lin Davies was formally inducted as Chaplain to No 2352 (Stone) Squadron RAF Air Cadets during a special service held at St Saviour’s Church, Aston-by-Stone.
The church provided a fitting setting for the long-awaited ceremony, which also included the formal enrolment of a large number of cadets. Many had been waiting patiently for this important milestone in their Air Cadet journey.

Councillor Davies, who is a well-known figure in the local community, was welcomed by the squadron and members of the clergy as she stepped into her new voluntary role. Her induction marks a renewed period of support for the squadron’s spiritual and pastoral needs.
No 2352 (Stone) Squadron is a thriving part of the national Air Cadet Organisation and meets twice a week at its headquarters in Walton Community Centre. The squadron offers young people in the area a wide range of opportunities, from flying and fieldcraft to leadership development and volunteering.
The cadets, smartly dressed in uniform and joined by instructors and clergy, gathered for a group photograph to mark the occasion beneath the church’s stunning stained glass windows.
The squadron continues to play an active role in Stone’s civic life, with cadets regularly seen supporting community events and representing the town at parades and ceremonies.
