Linda Blackburn from Birchill & Watson pharmacy on Stone High Street has created a wonderful shop-window tribute for the centenary of the start of the First World War.
Customers and staff members at the pharmacy have donated photographs and other items, and shared stories of their family members’ involvement in the Great War. All has been captured in a beautiful display put together by pharmacy assistant Linda.
It’s actually reduced some people to tears. One lady called in to the pharmacy this week to say that, in 44 years of marriage, she’d never seen her husband cry – until he had a look at the First World War window display.
If you’re in the High Street, make sure you have a good look.
A memorial service will be held in Stonefield Park on Sunday 3rd August at 3pm to remember the 148 men from Stone who lost their lives in the Great War. Click HERE for full details
