Little Dots wins national independent childrenswear award

Little Dots, the independent children’s shop on the High Street, has picked up a national honour after being named Best Independent Children’s Apparel Retailer at the Progressive Preschool Awards in November.

Little Dots Award

The business only opened in April 2024, but it has settled in quickly. Families know the shop for its mix of playful clothing and toys, and for its emphasis on British makers.

The moment for the Stone based shop

The awards ceremony took place on Sunday 10 November at the Royal Lancaster Hotel in London, bringing together retailers and brands from across the preschool sector. Little Dots was one of several small independents in the running.

Founder Samantha said the award felt significant.

“This award is a huge honour,” she said.

“What began as a spark of inspiration from my daughter Lottie has grown into something truly special.

“We’re proud to represent Staffordshire on the national stage and to show that independent businesses can thrive by staying true to their principles.”

A business shaped by family and local roots

Little Dots was created after Samantha found herself searching for well made, sustainable clothes for her daughter. The shop’s shelves feature UK designers, wooden toys and accessories, alongside a fully stocked family friendly cafe.

The business now trades through its Stone base, its website and regular appearances at events in and around the area. Winning a national award is likely to bring fresh attention, though day to day the focus remains close to home.
