Stone’s Lizzie Neave paddled her way to her second medal of the 2013 canoe slalom World Cup series when she clinched silver at Seu D’Urgell in the Spanish Pyrenees on Sunday (7th July).
Lizzie – a member of Stafford and Stone Canoe Club on Westbridge Park and a London 2012 Olympian – finished in second place in the women’s K1, adding a silver medal to the gold she won at the opening World Cup event in Cardiff recently. More on that HERE.
She also won silver in the women’s K1 team event and told GB Canoeing: “I am really happy with the result and it is good to re-confirm what I did in Cardiff and get on the podium again. I now have a good few weeks before World Championships and we will do a couple of training camps in Prague, mixed with training on the Olympic course at Lee Valley. I will just keep working on both my fitness and technique and it would be nice to put down a few solid runs and try and get amongst the medals.”
