Stone charity AED Donate has teamed up with local artist Lauren Ward of Nova & Me to create a limited edition print to fund a seventh defibrillator in the town.

Sudden cardiac arrest kills approximately 100,000 people a year in the UK. There are no warning signs but through awareness and the appearance of community defibrillators, this shocking statistic can be reduced. Working with ambulance trusts, the AEDdonate’s mission is to provide as many public access defibrillators on high streets, communities and public places to bring this number down.

AEDdonate recently celebrated their second birthday and have worked tirelessly to install over 1,000 machines throughout the UK.

We have had an amazing two years and after speaking to Nova & Me, we thought that it would be nice to fundraise a little differently where our supporters could receive a beautiful piece of art and contribute towards the addition of a seventh defibrillator in Stone.

“Seven may seem like a large number but the difference between life and death is only a few minutes. Making the distance between each defibrillator smaller is a huge step to saving lives in our community.”[/box]

Nova & Me, have been creating bespoke illustrations since the start of the year and are celebrating a high demand from their home town of Stone and have recently received orders from as far afield as Australia.

Lauren Ward said: “We want to give our customers something different, something that really connects with their personalities, their homes and their families. We met Claire at our first stall in February where we discussed the idea of a framed quote after she saw our portfolio. Claire and her team work so hard and are so passionate about creating awareness for cardiac arrest. It is amazing just how much impact a defibrillator can have to the community. These incredible machines save lives! We feel incredibly honoured to be working with AEDdonate.”

Priced at £30 each, a limited number of 100 framed prints, entitled “Start each day” will be available to buy for from the Nova & Me stall at this month’s Stone Farmers’ Market, the Nova & Me website at www.novaandme.co.uk or by contacting the AEDdonate team on 01785 472224.
