Local care company, RMP Care Ltd recently had four finalists in the National Learning Disability awards, given for excellence in care, dedication and commitment to improving the standards in care.
Loraine Atherton was shortlisted and won the award for registered managers after nominations by people who the service has helped and their families.
The finalists included Kerry Nairn for the frontline leader award, shortlisted to just eight of the nationwide entrants, proprietors Rosemarie Hulme and Paul Stevenson who were shortlisted to the outstanding contribution to care.
This was the first time the company had entered the annual awards, now in their third year and which aim to recognise and celebrate excellence in support for people with learning disabilities and pay tribute to those individuals and organisations who excel in providing quality care.
The company, founded and working in Stone has been supporting people for nearly 30 years, providing care and homes for people with a range of different support needs. The company’s basis and ethos has always been around caring about people with genuine heart and commitment, and the recognition of these awards is just the icing on the cake!
Loraine said “The award is wonderful and is for all the staff who work for RMP and help people with such kindness and care. We feel privileged to be able to do the work we do, and enable people to get the most out of life.”
