Stone’s Lymestone Brewery is celebrating a momentous achievement as their young brewer, Hayden Edge-Mannering, has been shortlisted for the prestigious SIBA Brewers Brewer of the Year 2025.
A journey from cask washer to award contender
Hayden’s journey with Lymestone began at just 14 when he joined as a summer holiday cask washer. His passion for brewing quickly became evident, and after a short time at college, he returned to the brewery as a full-time employee. Determined to master the craft, Hayden undertook a brewing apprenticeship with HIT Training, and in just two years, he became the first brewing apprentice to graduate in Stone in over 50 years.
His dedication, skill, and commitment to the highest brewing standards have not gone unnoticed. Being shortlisted for SIBA Brewers Brewer of the Year is a testament to his talent and the impact he has made in the industry at such a young age.
Lymestone Brewery’s pride in its young talent
The team at Lymestone couldn’t be prouder of Hayden’s achievements. “We are delighted with Hayden’s progress. His passion for brewing and his diligence to achieving the highest standards is something that we (and he) are rightly proud of,” said the brewery.
Hayden’s skills are not just being recognised within the brewing industry; they are also being enjoyed by beer lovers across Stone. The fruits of his labour are available in local pubs, with Lymestone’s beers permanently on tap at the Borehole and the Wren, and frequently at the Swan and the Poste of Stone. His latest creation, Obsidian, is now being served at the Borehole for those eager to taste his newest brew.
Raise a glass to Hayden
This nomination is a huge moment for both Hayden and Lymestone Brewery, marking an exciting milestone in his brewing career. If you want to show your appreciation, there’s no better way than by enjoying one of his expertly crafted beers.
