We’re not twisting your melons, man! Look who was in Granvilles in Stone on Saturday night – it’s only Bez from top Manchester band Happy Mondays.
Bez, who won Celebrity Big Brother in 2005 and stood for Parliament in Salford in this year’s General Election on an anti-fracking platform with his Reality Party, is best known for his elastic-limbed, maraca-shaking dancing with Happy Mondays and Black Grape.
He didn’t have any maracas with him in Granvilles on Saturday night, but he posed for photos and chatted with people who had been in Stone’s popular nightpot to see the band Housejammerz. Bez is friends with some of the band members, and had gone to Granvilles to see them play.
Sophie Johnson took the selfie with Bez above. She said: “He just turned up at the end of the night. Lots of people were taking photos, but I managed to get a selfie and a hug. I even bought him a drink and he had a shot with us. It was brilliant to see him in Granvilles, all a bit surreal really!”
