Staffordshire Police carried out warrants at three houses in Stone this morning (Wednesday 18th May) as part of a pre-planned drugs operation.
A 55-year-old man was arrested at one of the homes as officers searched properties in Sutherland Road and Priory Road. He is currently being held in custody on suspicion of cultivation and possession of cannabis.
A 23-year-old man and a 17-year-old male were given cannabis warnings. Officer seized a small amount of cannabis along with a quad bike, which they believe may have been stolen, and a quantity of cash.
The raids were carried out as Operation Nemesis – Staffordshire Police’s crackdown on drug dealers.
Chief Inspector Paul Trevor, Local Policing Team Commander for Stafford Borough, which includes Stone, said: “These warrants were carried out as part of a pre-planned activity to tackle the supply cannabis.
“Drugs blight communities and we’re committed, through Operation Nemesis, to bringing those involved in their cultivation and supply to justice. We’re also working closely with agencies who offer treatment to help those whose lives are blighted by drugs.
“Tackling drugs plays a key role in cutting crime and anti-social behaviour, both of which are continuing to fall in Stone.
