A man was taken to hospital after a fire broke out in his flat in Lichfield Street.
Crews from Stone and Stafford fire were called to the second-floor flat in Lichfield Street just before 7pm on Monday evening and spent around two hours at the scene. Traffic was diverted around Lichfield Street to allow firefighters to deal with the incident.
A Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said: “The fire was well developed on arrival and all persons living in the flats were accounted for having safely evacuated. The occupant of the flat where the fire started was taken to hospital for precautionary checks. No other residents required treatment.”
The cause of the fire is now being investigated by Staffordshire Fire Service and Staffordshire Police.
