British truck racing champion Dave Jenkins prepared for the start of the 2014 British Truck Racing Championship at Brands Hatch on April 12th & 13th.

Fresh from his TV exploits during the closed season, including an appearance of Channel 4’s “Speed with Guy Martin”, Dave and the team have focused their attention to getting the truck ready for the start of the new season.

The 2014 season promises to be one of the toughest in recent years with several new teams, a few returning faces and some new machinery entering the Championship.

The arrival of a number trucks which until recently ran on the European circuit in the hands of experienced drivers is sure to make the challenge a tough one – a prospect that Dave is relishing.

Many of the drivers competing in this year’s championship had a chance to renew their rivalry recently at the inaugural Indian Truck Racing Championship at the Buddha International F1 circuit, near Delhi.

Several British drivers got the opportunity to race modified Tata Prima T1 trucks in a special event sponsored by Tata Trucks. Dave, racing for the Tata Technologies Motor Sports team, managed to bring his truck home in a great 3rd place.

Having been runner up in the British championship for both 2012 & 2013 seasons, Dave and the team are determined to make the best possible start to the season.

The changes to the format last season proved very popular with the crowds. This means that it is vital to be competitive right from the start.

Jenkins said:

With up to 50 points at stake now, a bad weekend can prove very costly in the championship so we are determined to get the set up right from the outset. The team have work tirelessly to get us ready, but there is still a lot to do before we take to the track at Brands

Jenkins continues in his very popular ‘MANinBlack’ livery adopted for the 2013 championship representing the team’s main sponsor to Digraph Transport Supplies.

James Rawson, Managing Director, of Digraph said:

We had a great time backing Dave and his team last year and we are really excited to be back with the team for the new campaign. I’m looking forward to watching Dave challenging for the championship again in the all black Digraph colours.

Dave and the team look forward to seeing all their fans both new and old this season.

For the 2014 British Truck Racing Championship season the Jenkins Motorsport team are supported by Digraph Transport Supplies, ATE Truck and Trailer Sales, Morris Lubricants, Tyre Tracks in association with Alcoa Wheels and MAN.
