Melissa Phillips has been inspired by local toddler Ollie Ricketts-Ward’s short but brave life to face her fears & tackle the Superhero Skydive in aid of The Donna Louise Trust.
Ollie was born with Ohtahara Syndrome, a rare form of epilepsy, but despite his troubles, captivated everyone who met him. During his lifetime, he spent a lot of time at The Donna Louise Trust in Trentham. His family cannot praise their care enough. Ollie died on 28th December 2016 at 21 months old.
Melissa explains; I want to celebrate his life, and to give back a little something to this amazing organisation who were vital to Ollie’s family during his lifetime, who supported my best friend and her family through the hardest times. I shall be throwing myself out of an aeroplane and I need you guys to help me raise lots and lots of money. I have to raise a certain amount before I can even take part, so please sponsor me to do the craziest thing I have ever done in my life. I am beyond terrified. But I CAN do this, and I WILL do it. Because I’m doing it for Ollie.
The SuperHero Skydive will take place on 27th May 2017. Donations can be made via Melissa’s fundraising page.
