A special Midsummer Festival is being held at The Hayes on Saturday 18th and Sunday 19th June.
The event is being organised by Transition Stone, who organised the recent Swap Shop at St Dominic’s Social Centre and who are holding regular food group meetings at the Ishta Centre in Kings Avenue.
The group say the Midsummer Festival will be a bigger and better version of last year’s Festival of Possibilities, spread over two days and slightly earlier in the year to tie in with the Summer Solstice.
There will be workshops and talks on all manner of Transition-related themes, plus music, stalls, great food, kids’ stuff and much silliness!
There will be activities throughout the day and into the evening and people are welcome to camp in the beautiful grounds of the Hayes.
Transition Stone are working towards a more sustainable, environmentally-friendly town and have arranged a number of activities in the run-up to the Midsummer Festival. Email transitionstone@hotmail.co.uk for more information and to get involved.
