Joshua Smith’s family have asked people to check and double check any CCTV that they have from the 25th October 2016. There’s a real concern that CCTV footage may be overwritten so please do check your footage if you have some.
It is almost three weeks since Joshua Smith went missing from his home in the Crossings in Stone, Staffordshire. Fresh CCTV has confirmed that Joshua was travelling on foot north on the Canal towpath towards Newcastle Road between 9 and 9.15am. We do not know whether Joshua then continued on the canal towpath travelling north towards Whitebridge Estate, Meaford and Barlaston or whether he left the towpath on Newcastle Road. We do know that CCTV of the canal towpath near to the BET 365 stadium does not show Joshua continuing north towards Stoke on foot.
Staffordshire Police are prioritising CCTV footage that might help with this. However we urgently need any one who has CCTV in their home or business that might help us to volunteer this please. Josh has a distinctive cream coloured canvas backpack that shows up clearly against his three quarter length black coat.
We also need to rule out that Joshua might have travelled to Stone Station to take a train possibly to Stafford or Stoke stations and again any CCTV or sightings at or around Stone station between 9 – 10am on Tuesday 25th October would help us to rule this out.
If anyone has CCTV that might help with this please contact Staffordshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 639 of October 25. Could we also urge anyone in the Stone and Staffordshire area to retain their CCTV for that day as it might prove useful once we have further sightings.
