Stone’s all-singing, all-dancing performing arts academy, Rooftop Studios, has exciting plans for expansion, having taken on a new unit in Stone’s High Street Arcade.
Driven by the school’s packed schedule of classes and demand for more, the space below the main studio will be fully renovated into a dance space and a private lesson studio.
With the new studio set to open at the end of this year, the Autumn timetable will see considerable expansion, with the addition of new genres of dance plus additional options for the studios’ most popular classes – including weekday Musical Theatre classes and Commercial Jazz.
Studio director, Laura Keeling, said:
“We are hugely excited to announce the acquisition of new studio space. We have been in our ‘rooftop’ base above the arcade for almost 30 years and have already considerably expanded the studio space as we have grown over the years.
“This new space gives us the chance to meet the increased demand for our classes – in particular the ability to run weekday sessions of our hugely popular Stage Academy classes, which have traditionally taken place only on Saturdays, and offer exciting, energetic musical theatre training for kids aged 3 – 18 years as well as add some exciting new classes for all ages. The new space will also allow for some of our existing classes to be timetabled into a larger studio ”
Enrolment is now open for classes from September – including all grades of RAD ballet, adult ballet & ISTD modern jazz, tap, adult tap, vocal smash singing troupe (junior and adult groups), street dance, commercial heels, Acro, contemporary, nursery dance, Silver Swans ballet for over 55s, Acting Through Song, LAMDA Drama, Little Stage Academy, Junior Stage Academy, Senior Stage Academy and Rock & Pop School and private singing and dance lessons.
All new enrolments will take part in the whole school show set to take place at The Regent Theatre in Hanley in May 2025 which will see every member of the Rooftop Studios family – from tiny tots’ dance pupils to the over-55s Silver Swans ballet dancers showcase their talents in a professionally produced show.
