Nature lovers should head to Downs Banks on Friday night to encounter some creatures of the night!
The National Trust, Staffordshire Wildlife Trust and Stafford Borough Council have teamed up to hold a free bat and moth walk at the popular beauty spot on Friday 9th August.
Experts from Staffordshire Bat Group will present a short talk on bats before leading a walk. Bat detectors will be handed out to give visitors the chance have a go at tracking different bat species.
After the bat walk a moth specialist will be operating a number of harmless moth traps. This will enable everyone to see a wide variety of these insects and learn more about them.
Meet at the main Barlaston Downs car park at 8.30pm to take part. You’re advised to wear stout footwear, warm clothes and take a torch if you have one as the event will run into the late evening. As the event will run late, visitors are welcome to leave at any time.
