Harry Hall, who’s died at the age of 70

Harry’s friend Bob Preston met him in 1968 when H was working at John Martin’s motorcycle shop in Radford Street.

Bob said: “Harry was a cracking bloke, he’d always have a smile on his face and he’d help anyone with anything. And what he didn’t know about motorcycles wasn’t worth knowing! He worked at John Martin’s shop until the late 70s, and that’s where I met him. He was also a mechanic for Reg Richardson, who raced bikes for decades, up until recently when he was in his 70s.

“Harry was instrumental in getting Stone and District Motorcycle Club up and running in the late 60s. We all used to meet at the Robin Hood pub. And a few years ago, Harry was instrumental in getting the club resurrected and was a regular at club meetings at The Lamb in Walton. Club members will be taking part in the escort and we all hope lots of other people who knew Harry will join the escort too.”
