Great to see Mountfords ironmongers from Stone on BBC1’s The One Show on Monday evening!
Guest star on the popular magazine show on Monday was actor David Jason and, to mark a Christmas special this year for one of his hit comedies Open All Hours, The One Show had asked family businesses to get in touch with them to tell their story.
Dave and Andrew Kidd put themselves forward and appeared in front of millions of viewers.
Mountfords, in Lichfield Street, was opened in 1934 by Dave’s father and his brother-in-law. Dave has run the business for the last 53 years and was joined by his son 22 years ago.
