Music festival kicks off in style

Drivin' South perform in the Crown Hotel to launch this year's Stone Music and Arts Festival

Stone Music and Arts Festival got under way in style on Friday night with a launch gig at the Crown Hotel.

New Stone band Drivin’ South performed their cover versions of rhythm & blues classics like I’d Rather Go Blind and Feels Like Rain.

Local singer Laura also sang several of her own compositions and renowned singer-guitarist Geoff Shaw – currently living in Stone, but via Canada and Cambridge – performed an eclectic set of acoustic guitar-backed numbers.

There’s lots more going on over the big festival weekend. Check the official website for details.

Thanks to Nick Brookes for the photos.
