The winner of a competition to find the best Staffordshire recipe received her prize at the Stone Food and Drink Festival.
Trentham Estate deli Brown and Green ran the My Staffordshire Recipe competition aimed to unearth the very best family recipes that use Staffordshire produce and ingredients to the max!
The winner was Vera Bloor from Newcastle, whose Honey Ale Hog Pot impressed the judges with its simplicity and amazing flavours. You can view the recipe on the Brown and Green website.
Vera said: “My recipe was inspired by great local produce, including Lymestone Brewery’s Stone Brood honey beer, and our family holidays in France. It’s a dish that’s forgiving of busy diaries, is easily adapted and could cater for anything from an informal supper to a Scout camp.”
She won £200 worth of Seasoned Cookery School vouchers and received her prize on Friday from Brown and Green owner Susie Keenan.
Stone Food and Drink Festival has its own recipe competition this weekend. Pin your favourite recipe to the Recipe Swap board in the Gourmet Food Marquee at Westbridge Park and you could win a Friend Of The Festival membership.
