Letters have been sent out to residents and businesses in Stone inviting comments on proposals for a neighbourhood plan for the town.

A neighbourhood plan provides local people with the opportunity to say what development can take place, where it is to be located and what it might look like. Stone Town Council has set up a steering group, led by Cllr Jill Hood, to oversee the production of the Neighbourhood Plan.

Stafford Borough Council has now received an application from Stone Town Council to set the boundary for their neighbourhood plan – the first stage in the process. The borough council has written to residents and businesses in the area to ask for their feedback on the area to be covered by the plan.

The consultation started on Friday 25th September and runs until 6th November and you can get more information HERE. You can also give feedback online from this link, email forwardplanning@staffordbc.gov.uk and download forms. Copies can also be picked up from Stone library or the Civic Centre in Stafford.

Councillor Frances Beatty, cabinet member for planning and regeneration at the borough council, said: “I’d encourage any business or resident who wants to play a part in the future of Stone to get involved in this process. There may be, for example, buildings or streets that should be included or excluded from the area that has been proposed.”
